ALLENDALE, Mich. -- A pioneer in environmental golf issues returns to
one of the courses he designed to give a presentation and lead a tour.
Michael Hurdzan will speak at the Meadows at Grand Valley State
University on Monday, July 16. In April, Hurdzan received the Donald
Ross Award, the highest honor given by the American Society of Golf
Course Architects. He joins other ASGCA past presidents Robert Trent
Jones, Pete Dye and members Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer as
recipients of the award.
Media members are welcome to cover Hurdzan's presentation,
"Universities and Golf: A Vital and Historic Linkage." His
speech will begin around 12:20 p.m. (following lunch) at the Meadows
Clubhouse; Hurdzan will lead a tour of selected holes at 1 p.m.
The Meadows opened in 1994; it has hosted six NCAA championships.
