Bias incident cards available

The orange wallet-size cards carry a big message, according to members of the Team Against Bias.

TAB recently updated and distributed thousands of bias incident cards that contain phone numbers of campus departments ready to offer support and guidance for people who have observed or experienced a bias incident.

Marlene Kowalski-Braun, co-chair of TAB, said the cards went to all new students, Transitions leaders, RAs and MAs, in addition to all campus departments.

“Tracking and responding to bias incidents in a timely and caring manner is one of the many ways that Grand Valley has committed to living out its value of diversity,” she said. “Creating an inclusive campus community is the responsibility of every member of the Grand Valley community, and faculty and staff members play particularly important roles.”
