Terrorism expert warns of home-grown terrorists

Jonathan White, executive director of the Homeland Defense Initiative, spoke to local reporters June 23. White has been traveling the country speaking to law enforcement officials about the recruitment of prison gang members and other Americans for Jihadists.

White said home-grown terrorists are Americas biggest threat. "Typically, terrorists use propaganda and rhetoric," said White, "now they are taking advantage of hostile people. Our prisons are hot beds of violent people."

White said good old-fashioned, aggressive police work is key in the fight against terrorism. He also said the war in Iraq is winnable by utilizing two types of military -- a hunter, killer force and a very large military for nation building.
