Team attends conference on inclusive learning

A team from Grand Valley attended the Greater Expectations Institute: Campus Leadership for Student Engagement, Inclusion, and Achievement, at Snowbird, Utah.

The five-day intensive program was designed to help university teams discuss ways to increase inclusive learning and student engagement. Grand Valley faculty and staff members mapped current campus activities and discussed ways to build on these as a way of fostering an inclusive community of engaged learners.

To continue this work at Grand Valley, the team will present a session on inclusive excellence and student engagement at the Fall Teaching Workshop, sponsored by the Pew Faculty Teaching and Learning Center August 23.

Also, Intergroup Dialogues this fall will focus on student engagement, inclusive learning and liberal education. Faculty and staff members who are interested in participating in Intergroup Dialogues can contact Susan Mendoza-Jones at [email protected].
