A Message from President Thomas J. Haas:
Last week I announced the impending retirement of Vice President Tim Schad, and today I want to bring you up to date on actions I've taken in the search for the next vice president for finance and administration.
I have designated Vice President Patricia Oldt to head the search process and chair the committee; we will look locally, regionally and nationally for the best candidates. Dr. Oldt will announce the members of the committee and its schedule in the next few days. She will also let you know how you may communicate with the committee, in the event you have nominees, suggestions or questions. Tim plans to retire on November 15. I've asked Jim Bachmeier, associate vice president for Business and Finance to act as interim vice president until Tim's successor is appointed. Please join me in thanking Jim for agreeing to help at this important juncture.
I'd also like to say, once again, how much I appreciate the fine job Tim has done for Grand Valley and to wish him well in his return to the private sector.
