Public Safety officer named to national diversity committee

Public Safety Officer Bruce Morningstar was named to a national committee charged with developing a comprehensive diversity program for law enforcement officers.

Bruce Morningstar will be part of the National Coalition Building Institute's executive committee. The NCBI, in Washington, D.C., was established in 1984 to lead diversity training workshops for colleges, communities and organizations.

He said he will attend an April meeting to launch NCBI's new law enforcement initiative. He also hopes to establish a Grand Valley chapter of NCBI. Currently NCBI has 50 city-based leadership teams, 30 organization-based leadership teams and more than 60 college/university-based teams.
