Grand Valley's News and Information Services Office and Betty Prichard, associate professor of communications, received awards at the annual West Michigan Public Relations Society of America banquet.
NIS earned two awards: a silver award for Grand Valley Magazine (external communications); and a silver award for promoting ridership on the Rapid Bus (community relations program).
Prichard earned a lifetime achievement award; she is retiring from Grand Valley this year.
NIS also earned numerous Videographer Awards, an international awards organization that helps set the standards for the video production industry. The 2005 convocation video earned two Awards of Distinction; Around Grand Valley Tour video won two Awards of Excellence, two Awards of Distinction and an Honorable Mention; and Webcasting the basketball games earned an Award of Excellence.
Also, NIS photography services manager Bernadine Carey-Tucker earned two Communicator Awards for photos in the 2005 Best Of Grand Valley and the 2005 GVSU Annual Report.
