She has worked with grant seekers at the National Endowment for the Arts, U.S. Department of Energy and Washington State Arts Commission. Now in the Graduate Studies and Grants Administration Department, Chamberlain will help faculty and staff members through the entire grant process, from the planning stages through post-award (non-financial).
"We have several databases that can search for potential funding sources," Chamberlain, who began working at Grand Valley in early July, said. "We can help take people from the proposal stage to development, and help them look at federal and state agencies as sources."
The number of grants awarded to Grand Valley has increased dramatically over the past years. Last year, 149 grants were awarded totaling about $15 million.
Chamberlain said she gets a great deal of satisfaction from helping people seek grant money. "I also like working with cutting-edge ideas," she said.
