Lubbers, Rowe will sign books

President Emeritus Arend D. Lubbers and Professor of Philosophy Steven Rowe will sign copies of their book, Old Hopes for a New Place , at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 2, at River Bank Books, 89 Monroe Center, N.W., in the former Steketees building.

This collection of 15 years of Lubbers' speeches, edited by Rowe, emphasizes his political, religious and educational philosophy, with an emphasis on the value of a liberal education. The speeches represent the 32 years of his presidency, from academic years 1969-2001.
