Hispanic community leaders host panel discussion

Grand Valley and several Hispanic community leaders will talk about their experiences, career paths and issues that Hispanic and Latino students face during a half-day seminar. The Hispanic/Latino Student Experience is scheduled for Wednesday, May 24, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Eberhard Center.

Speakers include Juan Olivarez, president of Grand Rapids Community College; Philip Batty, director of GVSU Institutional Analysis; and Jos¿ Infante, board of trustees member. Reniero Araoz, Lansing School District area director, will moderate a panel discussion of high school students; and Julie Guevara, associate provost at Grand Valley, will moderate a college student panel discussion. President Mark A. Murray will give the welcome remarks.
