GVSU hosts 8th Auto Suppliers Symposium

The growing presence of transplant auto manufacturers is being felt throughout the domestic U.S. auto industry, and looking at the road ahead, all indications are that this trend will continue. To prepare for the future, U.S. auto suppliers need to develop a strategy to pursue business with these new domestic manufacturers.

The Van Andel Global Trade Center at Grand Valley State University, Comerica Bank and Plante & Moran PLLC will focus on this trend during the eighth annual Automotive Suppliers Symposium, which is set for March 9 from 7:30-11:30 a.m. in the Loosemore Auditorium of the DeVos Center, 401 W. Fulton St., Grand Rapids.

The keynote address will be given by Dan Vivian, director of engineering design from Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. Other speakers include James Zawacki, president of GR Spring & Stamping, Inc.; Steve Rodgers, vice president of marketing for Magna International; Paul Haelterman, director of global market assessment, CSM Worldwide, Stanley D. Tooley, senior vice president of corporate support, DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc. (DMMI) and vice president of associate relations, DENSO International America, Inc. (DIAM).

The registration fee is $125 and includes symposium materials, continental breakfast, and parking. A $50 late fee applies when registering after March 1, 2006. For more information or to register, visit www.vagtc.org or call (616) 331-6811.
