Grand Valley Lakers honored by lawmakers

ALLENDALE, Mich. -- The national champion Grand Valley State football and volleyball teams will be honored at the State Capitol in Lansing on Thursday, February 9. About 100 players and staff will be recognized in the Senate and the House and will meet with Governor Granholm.

The schedule:

• 10 a.m. - Gather on Senate Floor - recognition by Sen. Wayne Kuipers, R - Holland
• 10:45 a.m. - Gather in Gallery of the House - recognition by Rep. Barb Vander Veen, R - Allendale
• 11:30 a.m. - Meet the Governor - Ceremonial Office in Capitol, 2nd floor - photos
