Grand Valley hosts musical melting pot ensemble

Listeners will be treated to an eclectic mix of Middle Eastern, Balkan, Mediterranean, Jewish, Celtic, and African musical influences laid on top of contemporary rock and roll and jazz during a free concert by Esta at Grand Valley State University.

This multi-ethnic Israeli ensemble is as distinctive as it is diverse. For 22 years, they have entranced audiences with fiery cross-cultural collaboration at venues such as New York City's Blue Note Club, the Los Angeles House of Blues, and, the White House.

The world music group performs at noon on Wednesday, February 22 as part of Grand Valley's Arts at Noon Series in the Cook-DeWitt Center, Allendale. The performance is also part of the Midwest World Fest, which fosters an understanding and appreciation for global uniqueness and differences through cultural exchanges.
