Four candidates selected for Grand Valley president

Donna Brooks, chair of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee at Grand Valley State University, announced Tuesday that the committee has completed its charge from the Board of Trustees ahead of schedule and has forwarded the names of four candidates to the Presidential Search Committee (the Board of Trustees) for its consideration.

Trustee Brooks has thanked the PSAC for its diligence and for its service to the university. The Presidential Search Committee will now begin the process of reviewing the qualifications of the recommended candidates to replace outgoing President Mark A. Murray. Murray will leave Grand Valley August 1 to become president of Meijer Inc. The Presidential Search Committee will be in communication with the campus community as the process continues.

The PSAC was comprised of four Grand Valley trustees and representatives of Grand Valley's faculty, staff, student body, alumni and the community at large. It was charged with producing an unranked list of a suitable number of candidates to the Search Committee by June 30, 2006.
