Forum will target health of African Americans

A panel discussion this week will identify and offer solutions to various health care problems for African Americans.

The forum is scheduled for Thursday, February 16, 7 p.m., Loosemore Auditorium, DeVos Center, 401 W. Fulton St., Grand Rapids. It continues the events planned for Black History Month at Grand Valley State University.

Wayne Boatwright, chief diversity officer for Saint Mary's Health Care, Battle Creek Health System and Mercy General Health Partners, will serve as moderator.

Other participants are Dr. Tracy Mathis Blount, Dental Design, P.C.; Dr. Scott Metcalfe, St. Mary's Health Care; Birthale Archie, MSN, RN, president and CEO, Nursing Care Professionals; Dr. Andola Mathis; and Barbara White, medical education director, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital.
