A conference sponsored by the GVSU International Club and the Beta Alpha Psi accounting honor society will illustrate some of the cultural challenges in the business world. The confernce, titled "Discover Business Arbroad," is scheduled for Thursday, November 30 from 6-8 p.m., in the Loosemore Auditorium, DeVos Center.
The goal of the conference is to make both undergraduate and graduate students more aware of cultural challenges when doing business abroad. The program will feature three speakers:
- Ben Rudolph, International Marketing Professor at GVSU, discussing general cultural challenges in doing business abroad
- Paul Marineau from Crowe Chizek & Co (9th largest Professional Business Service Firm in the US) discussing Doing Business in China
- Jeff Grim from Deloitte (one of Big 4 Professional Business Service Firms in the World) discussing Doing Business in Japan
The speakers will be followed by a Q&A session. The event will also feature information booths and international food from the Far East, South and Central America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
