Grand Dialogue is an association of eight greater Grand Rapids area colleges, universities, and related organizations exploring the relationship between science and religion. It is supported by a grant to Grand Valley from the Metanexus Institute with funds from the Templeton Foundation. Thanks to the grant, this conference is free and open to the public.
The conference, held at Grand Valley's Pew Grand Rapids Campus, runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 1. More than a dozen breakout sessions will be presented by faculty and representatives from Grand Dialogue member colleges and institutions.
Haught's presentation, "Darwin, Intelligence, and Religion: How Much Can Evolution Explain?" is at 10 a.m. He is a distinguished research professor in the theology department at Georgetown University and the author of more than a dozen books.
