The celebration is planned for Wednesday, April 5, from 5-7 p.m. at the Standale Meijer store, on Lake Michigan Drive and Wilson. GVSU won its first national championship in women's basketball on March 25, after beating American International, 58-52.
Those scheduled to attend are seniors Niki Reams, Dawn Maynard and Jaida Bourke and coaches Dawn Plitzuweit and Mike Williams. Louie the Laker will also make an appearance. Reams was named to the Kodak/WBCA All-American team for the second straight season. Plitzuweit earned national coach of the year honors.
The event is sponsored by Meijer, Licensing Resource Group and Grand Valley State University.
