Winners of pedometer challenge announced

Sponsored by Work Life Connections, more than 70 teams (292 people) participated in the pedometer challenge, which started in September.

Sue Sloop, Work Life consultant, said faculty and staff members walked 134.8 million steps, about 67,407 miles, or almost three times around the world.

Challenge prizes were awarded to teams with the highest numbers of steps: the first-place team, Princess Warriors, won $20 gift cards donated by University Bookstore; the second-place team, AW3, won $10 gift certificates donated by Applebees of Walker; the third-place team, Telecom Trekkers, won $5 gift cards donated by Peppinos; and the fourth-place team, Perpetual Motion, won $5 gift certificates to Panera Bread purchased by Human Resources.
