Quilt founder will speak before World AIDS Day

Cleve Jones, HIV activist for more than 15 years and founder of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, will speak on campus prior to World AIDS Day on December 1.

Sponsored by the student organization Health and AIDS, Jones' presentation will be at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, in the Kirkhof Center, room 204.

Events will continue on Thursday, December 1, with a daylong event, "Artists Express AIDS III," from noon-8 p.m. in Loosemore Auditorium of the DeVos Center. The event will include artwork and displays from local artists, interactive opportunities for youth and adults, two panels from the NAMES project: AIDS Memorial Quilt. Information regarding HIV testing, prevention, treatment, and educational materials will be available.
