    "Jamaica Today: Six Women Artists" exhibit features a group of highly talented artists with African, Asian, and European backgrounds. All make Jamaica their home but their visual vocabulary differs dramatically from one another as they express their insights of this island nation. A Fall Celebration event at the Grand Valley State University Art Gallery, in the Performing Arts Center, Allendale.     Rob Roy McGregor, associate principal trumpet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, presents a master class for brass players. He was assistant principal trumpet of the Baltimore Symphony (1970-1981) before joining the trumpet section of the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 1981. In 1991 McGregor formed Balquhidder Music, a publishing company, which specializes in pedagogical and ensemble works for trumpet and other brass instruments.     Arts at Noon Series. Neptune Quartet: part string quartet, part jazz ensemble, part blues band, part orchestra -- at the same time retro and new world. Formed in 2001, the quartet plays its own original compositions as well as music of Django, Reinhardt, Frank Zappa, and Hank Williams. A collaboration of cellist Crispin Campbell, mandolinist Don Julin, guitarist Angelo Meli, and bassist Glenn Wolff, their diverse musical experiences transform the stage with the fluid and elastic atmospherics of humor, fantasy, surprise, and the celebration of a profound musical heritage.     A Fall Arts Celebration Event. The Dance Stars of the New Millennium IV will present dancers from America's foremost ballet companies including New York City Ballet soloists Amanda Edge and Daniel Ulbricht. Performing with the dance stars will be the GVSU Dance Ensemble under the direction of Jefferson Baum. Performances at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 28 and 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 29. Tickets: $20.   • The brilliance, wit, and pageantry of the 17th century Bard, William Shakespeare returns to delight audiences at Grand Valley State University with the Main Stage Production: Hamlet. A captivating spectacle of ghosts, swordplay, and death along with traditional English Renaissance themes of betrayal, revenge, and ambition, Hamlet is a timeless play in that it blends these elements masterfully with intense philosophical probing into the very nature of man and humanity.
    Director Roger Ellis presents a period production featuring professional, student, and community actors. Matinees at 2 p.m. October 1, 2, 8, and 9.     10/20 Thursday - Odds Bodkin Storyteller Extraordinaire. Author, musician and bardic storyteller, Odds Bodkin has performed from Bangkok to The White House, bringing both ancient and original stories to life. His character-voice and music-filled storytelling style has been mesmerizing listeners, young and old, for 21 years.
