Representatives from the Korean Broadcasting System visited West Michigan and Grand Valley to interview teachers, administrators and students about Learning to Give, a program of the Council of Michigan Foundations. that teaches the importance of sharing time, talent and treasure for the common good.
The CMF awarded Grand Valley's College of Education a grant in 2003 to develop and implement Learning to Give programs.
During their visit, Korean journalists Huang Alex and Jae Lee visited an elementary school in Muskegon and a charter school in Holland. They were interviewed by WGVU Radios Shelley Irwin.
Rita Higgins, from Learning to Give, said Korean teachers have attended LTG institutes sponsored by the College of Education and have implemented LTG lessons in their classrooms.
