Discussing Design

John R. Berry, senior consultant of the Greystone Group and author of "Herman Miller: The Purpose of Design," will give a lecture titled "Design for Non-Designers" on November 16. The lecture will focus on the relevance of design for faculty and students engaged in liberal studies, business, design, engineering, art, sociology, writing, humanities and other disciplines.

Berry has spoken nationally and internationally on the work of Charles and Ray Eames, George Nelson and "authenticity" to a variety of audience. He will teach a new special topics Liberal Studies course at GVSU in Winter 2006, also titled "Design for Non Designers."

The lecture is Wednesday, November 16, at 4 p.m. in the Loosemore Auditorium in the DeVos Center on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus. The lecture is free and open to the public. Faculty members should contact Noreen Savage at [email protected] if classes will be attending the lecture.
