Committee studies university's parental, family leave policies

A Women's Commission subcommittee is studying the university's parental and family leave policies and is seeking feedback from faculty and staff members.

Feeback -- both positive and negative -- on maternity, paternity and adoption leaves can be submitted via e-mail to [email protected]. Names will be kept confidential. E-mails from supervisors who grant leaves are also welcome.

Committee chair Gwenden Dueker said feedback and examples of leaves (length, salary continuation, vacation time used) taken by faculty and staff are important as the committee moves ahead. The committee plans to propose changes to current policies and welcomes all input on the topic, she said.
