Additional math and science may be required for a high school diploma

ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Michigan high school students could be required to take more math and science classes in order to graduate. The following Grand Valley State University experts are available for comment.

Beckmann was president of the Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics in 2003 and is currently writing a book on the requirements necessary for high school mathematics courses.

Chycinski can comment on how new math and science requirements would affect university admissions.
