President Mark Murray has offered the position of Provost to Dr. Gayle
Davis of Wichita State University. In his announcement, Murray noted Dr.
Davis' substantial leadership experience in academic, budgetary and
personnel matters, as well as her extensive experience in working with
deans, department chairs, and faculty in many disciplines.
'Just as important as her experience is her manifest skill in
addressing issues in a collaborative and solution-oriented style. Her
reputation for solid preparation, openness, and thoughtfulness is well
established at Wichita State. Her skills and energy will be a great
benefit to Grand Valley,' Murray said.
Dr. Davis returned to campus Monday to discuss the final details of her
appointment and is expected to announce her decision within the week.
