Wednesday brings the culmination of the search for the third President of Grand Valley State University, as the Board of Trustees holds final, public interviews with candidates Owen Cargol and Mark Murray.
The interviews will take place in Cook-DeWitt Center, on the Allendale Campus, with video simulcasts in Louis Armstrong Theatre on the Allendale Campus, the Eberhard Center on the Grand Rapids Campus, and on the Presidential Search page on the GVSU Web site.
The day begins with coffee in Cook-DeWitt at 8 a.m., when members of the university community can meet with the Board in informal conversation.
At 9:15, Owen Cargol, President of The University of Maine, Augusta, will be interviewed for one hour and 15 minutes on the Cook-DeWitt stage.
After a 15 minute break, the Board will then interview Mark Murray, Treasurer of the State of Michigan, beginning at 10:45.
After a break for lunch, the Board will reconvene on the Cook-DeWitt stage at 2 p.m. to deliberate. It is possible that the Board will take its vote during this session.
The candidates each made previous visits to GVSU, Murray on March 1 and Cargol on March 2, during which they had identical schedules of meetings with faculty, staff, students, alumni and the public.
