Construction continues

Summer has come to an end for the GVSU community, but the busy construction season continues with dramatic renovations on Kirkhof Center aimed at revitalizing the 30-year-old building's function as the focal point for student activity.

The Kirkhof project includes a 43,000 square foot; 3 floor addition to northwest side of the existing building that includes student organization and assembly space, student activities programming space and space for Student Services.

Significant interior renovation includes the creation of a Main Street for light dining, shopping, and an information booth in main corridor. The lower level will have an expanded dining area, upgraded food services and game room. Interior colors and flooring will also be updated.

The building's north entrance is closed through October; the target for north side completion is February 2002. For up-to-date information about the university's construction projects, visit The Next Grand Valley web site.
