World-renowned religious scholar Karen Armstrong, scheduled to speak at Grand Valley State University on October 25, has cancelled her appearance due to health problems.
Armstrong's appearances in West Michigan -- including her public lecture in Grand Rapids planned for October 25, a campus talk at GVSU on October 26, and workshops at Grand Haven's Center for Religion and Life -- have not been re-scheduled.
Armstrong, an expert on Islamic fundamentalism and the author of ten books including the bestseller, A History of God, and the recent, Islam: A Short History, has been a sought-after public speaker and media guest since September 11.
