Welcome to GVSU GenCyber Camp!

The School of Computing at Grand Valley State University is excited to host West Michigan's GenCyber camp. 

GVSU's GenCyber program provides a cybersecurity camp experiences for high school teachers.

Program goals:

  • Help Participants understand safe online behavior
  • Learn fundamental cybersecurity knowledge
  • Increase interest in cybersecurity careers

The GenCyber camps are offered at no cost to all participants.

GenCyber camp instructional topics to be covered:

  • Cybersecurity Ethics
  • Network Scanning
  • System Hardening
  • Access Control
  • Cyber-safety
  • Cryptography
  • DNS Pharming
  • Password Cracking
  • Steganography
  • Digital Forensics.

Camp activities include hands-on exercises, interactive lectures, games, and career exploration. Camp participants will not only learn cybersecurity knowledge during the camp but there will also be pre and post-camp educational activities.    

Funding 

This GenCyber camp will be funded jointly by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) through an award received by Grand Valley State University.
