Man speaks to audience in Loosemore

T hriving in the 21st Century is the theme for the 17th annual Art & Science of Aging Conference to be held on February 25, 2022. This annual conference features live and streaming sessions on aging well in the 21st century.  This is a day-long event open to the public, serving professionals who work in the aging network, healthcare, social services, and senior living communities.  It also serves as a source of advice and best practices for older adults, their family members, and friends.  It relies on evidence-based information presented by experts in the field.

This year's event will offer both in-person and virtual sessions, to facilitate participation by a wider range of attendees and presenters, enabling them to participate in the format that best meets their own preferences and circumstances.

Held at the Grand Valley State University Richard M. DeVos Center in its Loosemore Auditorium, Hager-Lubbers Exhibition Hall, and adjacent classrooms, it will feature a wide range of exhibitors/sponsors, some in person and some virtual only.  It will allow participants to interact prior to, during, and after the event; to reach out to speakers and exhibitors. The networking that occurs is also a valuable aspect for all participants.

We are using an event management platform, WHOVA.COM, to facilitate the event.  Registration is open to all - the public, faculty, students, staff.  We welcome all interested participants.

Registration levels are $35 for the general public; $25 for students and for adults 60 and older.  Volunteers, speakers, student researchers, sponsors are able to attend free of charge.

Go to the website:  https://www.gvsu.edu/gerontology  and follow the link to the registration and the full program.

The full program, details about speakers and sessions (there are 20 sessions offered throughout the day), and details about accessing onsite or remote, can be found at the whova.com site.
