William, a native from Kalamazoo, MI, has a background in special education focused on learning disabilities, evidence-based instruction and student success. William has experience working within higher education for a BIPOC student bridge-year program focused on mentorship, scholar success, and navigating first year experiences for first generation students. He also has facility management experience and founded a Western Michigan University student organization (Future Teachers of Color) designed to create pipelines for future teachers to receive mentorship, career preparation, academic success, and networking skills as they prepare to enter the field of education.

William has a strong passion for community engagement, restorative educational practices, and creating a village for BIPOC students to cultivate success within. William currently serves as the Boys Varsity Basketball Coach for a local Grand Rapids High School and enjoys the positive relationships and team building that encompass this role.
