Dušan Foltýn studied the oboe at the Ostrava Conservatoire and graduated from the Academy of performing Arts in Prague. He is the laureate of many national and international competitions (f.e. Concertino Praga - 2nd Prize, Conservatorie´s Competition Display – 1st Prize, Prague Spring International Competition - 2nd Prize)

At the present time he is the principal oboist of the Janácek Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava and he is the head of the Department of Wind Instruments at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Ostrava. There organizes an international oboe workshop together with world leading oboists (R. Killmer – USA, O. Zoboli – Switzerland, N. A. King – USA, N. Daniel – England, D. Walter – France).

Dusan Foltýn is a member of the wind quintet Musica per cinque with which he became a finalist at the International Competition of Wind Quintets in Belgrade (Serbia) in 1987. He receives regular invitations as a jury member in both national and international competitions (f.e. Concertino Praga, Prague Spring International Competition).

Radana Foltýnová, piano, graduated from the Janácek Conservatoire in Ostrava and the University of Ostrava. During her studies attended several national and international competitions, including  the 1993 Smetana Piano Competition in Hradec Králové, Czech  Republic  (second - prize winner), the 1994 International Piano Competition in Kill, Sweden (fourth - prize winner), the 1998 Janácek Piano Competition in Brno, Czech Republic (second - prize winner  and an award for the best interpretation of Janácek). 

Currently, Radana is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts at University of Ostrava. She is a sought-after chambre musician and has collaborated with both wind and string soloists. She has appeared as soloist with leading Czech orchestras, gives solo and chamber recitals in the Czech Republic and abroad (Austria, Poland, Slovakia and Sweden), and records for Czech Radio and Television.

Program will feature music by Czech composers.
