"Crossing the Ohio" is the first panel that the local artist, Ruth Andrews, created for a mural in which she imagined events that led to the 1847 Kentucky Raid in Cass County, Michigan. Professor Tucker worked with a group of community volunteers for two years to meld history into art in the mural titled "Sanctuary and Deliverance". Professor Tucker published a short history of the Kentucky Raid titled, "A Twenty-first Century History of the 1847 Kenticky Raid in Cass County, Michigan".
