Transitions: Your Fall Orientation August 21-23, 2008

"For many of you students joining us for this opening celebration of our academic year, you are beginning your first college experiences.
You picked a great place."
-President Thomas J. Haas, Convocation Address, August 24, 2007

This exciting program helps students meet new people, get acclimated to campus, and prepare for a successful university experience. All new students are expected to participate in Transitions 2008.

The Transitions program:

  • Prepares each student for the academic rigor of the University.
  • Assists students in meeting people and making connections both in and out of the classroom.
  • Provides students with an overall knowledge of the resources and services that Grand Valley State University has to offer.

Each new student (commuter and residential) will be assigned to a small group of students, led by a Transitions Leader - an experienced Grand Valley State University student that will guide the group through various programs and activities. The Transitions schedule is designed to share valuable information with students as well as allow for free time to get settled and ready for classes to begin on August 25.
