CLASSIFICATION 1 - This is an entry-level wage for GVSU students. The majority of student will be classified here. No special skills required.
CLASSIFICATION 2 - Includes those positions where the student employee is in a lead worker role or has acquired special skills and experiences.
CLASSIFICATION 3 - Includes those positions requiring technical and/or supervisory skills.
CLASSIFICATION 4 - Includes those positions requiring technical, and/or supervisory skills and which requires considerable related experiences.
CLASSIFICATION 5 - Intended for internships, graduate assistants or other highly skilled students. Positions at this level are viewed as requiring specialized skills and experiences.
CLASSIFICATION 6 - Intended for graduate students or other highly skilled students in positions that pay an hourly wage rather than a stipend.
CLASSIFICATION 7 - Special Pay Rates - Includes graduate assistants and those positions requiring professional, technical, supervisory, or trade skills and which require considerable related experiences. This level is viewed as GVSU's top student pay rate.
