SWOT Form

The SWOT analysis is a common tool used in organizational planning and strategy development.  It provides an analysis of the university’s strategic environment both internally and externally.  The basic assumption of a SWOT is that an organization must align its internal activities with external influences.

SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats.  In identifying strengths and weaknesses, you are asked to look internally and list GVSU’s internal strengths and weaknesses.  To fill in the opportunities and threats you are asked to consider the external environment for new opportunities and changes in this environment that may present threats for Grand Valley.

Please complete the form and click submit so your views and perspectives will be included in the information the Strategic Positioning 2010 Committee uses to identify issues and/or gaps that affect the university.
