Medical and Bioinformatics M.S.

Medical and Bioinformatics:

The utilization of computer technology to manage and analyze information in the life and health sciences.

The curricula for Bioinformatics and Medical Informatics presume a common methodological basis for both disciplines:

  • large database design
  • information visualization
  • knowledge discovery and data mining

These core courses allow for synergy between disciplines and students that are drawn from:

Computer Science, Statistics, and Mathematics
Biology, Medicine, Nursing and related fields

Students take a directed sequence emphasizing:

Informatics for biological research

Clinical informatics and computing
