Elder Care GVSU recognizes the challenges that faculty and staff face when providing care for an aging parent or loved one. By 2030, there will be about 71.5 million older persons, more than twice their number in 2000. To support this trend, GVSU has Elder Care resource and referral available through the Work Life Connections Program. Navigating the complex and often confusing maze of community-services can be overwhelming. Let our Work Life Consultant or our employee assistance program, Encompass, help you with this challenge. Elder Care are services for the elderly population who are defined as having chronic functional impairment in one or more of 6 activities of daily living (ADL's) requiring the help of another person. What services are available to elders?Elder Care describes the range of services available to the elderly to address the care needs and concerns of this population.
The Work Life Connections Program will help you connect with the support you need when caring for an elderly loved one. These services help to improve the quality of life for the elderly population and in many cases improve their capability to remain living independently in their own homes for a longer period of time.
