Information: After my film/video degree I spent a year grabbing the MS in communications and then went to the University of Miami for my MFA. As a grad student I functioned as a Graduate Assistant for Animation - After Effects (thanks Jim). While in school I connected with various production houses, producers, directors, etc in the area. Starting as a Production Assistant I worked my way up to operator/director of photography/2nd unit director on various professional productions. I've worked with many A-list artists as 2nd Unit on music videos including Wamp Wamp by Clipse ft Pharrell, Holla At Me by DJ Khaled ft. Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, Paul Wall, Rick Ross and Pitbull, and the latest video featuring Mya to name a few. I'm currently in pre-production on a Pitbull video to be shot sometime in December 06 or early January 07. I'm also in negotiations to direct a pilot regarding popular music groups in the United States.
Information: Currently working as a set ligting technician. He works on his own projects while trying to earn money on features, shorts, commercials, and music videos as an independent contractor. Words of Wisdom: To anyone interested in working crew or proudctions, some advice I would have is to work hard, show respect, and keep a low profile. Listen more than you talk. People out here want ordinary Joes around.
Information: Time is partnering with English associate Professor Tony Tendero on a research project that includes the use of digital video o help pre-service student teachers to reflect and tell stories about their recent experiences in the field. It is hoped that the digital medium will allow for ease and efficiency in production of these stories. the plan will be to distribute them online to be shared with other pre-service student teachers. Through the process of creating the videos and reflecting on classroom experiences, it is hoped that the pre-service student teachers will acknowledge strengths and weaknesses in their teaching and communication styles that might have gone unnoticed without the aid of video documentation. Tim also hopes to incorporate digital video production and media literacy into his classroom curriculum when he begins his teaching career.
Information: Currently Don is working as Public Coordinator at MacTV in Holland. He schedules channel 14 in Holland and 22 in the surrounding townships. He also trains people to use equipment, directs a weekly magazine show called West Michigan Today, and shoots/edits underwriting messages and additional projects for the station. Words of Wisdom: Pleasure is doing what others say you cannot do.
Information: Currently working for LVI Media Productions, a video production company that produces legal video depositions. Words of Wisdom: Build a website and post your resume and short clips of your reels on it. If an employee is interested then send them a copy of your demo reel upon their request otherwise make hundreds of demo tapes. That's all I got. |
