June 2023 Board of Trustees Update

On June 23, 2023, the GVSU Board of Trustees acted on only one item related to GVSU-authorized charter public schools.
During the meeting, the Board approved the appointments and reappointments of 51 total charter school board members. The GVSU Charter Schools Office is thankful for the 42 board members who renewed their service to their community school, and is excited to welcome the following 9 individuals as new board members for GVSU-authorized charter schools:
- Eugene McKay -- Arbor Academy
- Alexis Torres -- Arbor Academy
- Matthew Benson -- Black River Public School
- Joseph Maffesoli -- Detroit Merit Charter Academy
- Brandy Jones -- Eagle's Nest Academy
- Tangela Owens -- Eagle's Nest Academy
- Navin Abro -- GEE Compass Academy
- Morgan Panning -- Light of the World Academy
- Justin Wilton -- Michigan Mathematics and Science Academy
