•What majors should I declare in myBanner for the Special Education Program?

Students seeking Special Education teacher certification at Grand Valley have two majors:

1. Comprehensive Science and Arts for Teaching (CSAT) for which you can choose either a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree

2. Special Education (second major only)

Note that no minor is required.

Special Education Information: Provides academic advisors who are knowledgeable about the CSAT/SPED majors and admissions requirements for the College of Education. Call or drop in to make an appointment. The website has worksheets covering the majors, sample five year curriculum plans, information about the prerequisite sequences for requirements to help you stay on track, and a wealth of other information about all programs/majors offered in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Provides information about the Basic Skills Test and registration. Study guides are also available to order on-line.

NOTE: Free access to study guides and practice materials is available in the CLAS Academic Advising Center Resource Room, C1140 MAK Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 6pm and Friday 8 am to 5 pm.
