Diversity:  Religion
Grand Valley students report either Christian or Catholic as their religious preference at least fifty per cent of the time. However, the next largest group of fourteen per cent reports not having any religious affiliation. This University is founded on strong moral and spiritual principles as is indicative of Western Michigan. Students from differing religious sects come together on this campus to form a unified group of students. The Counseling and Career Development Center has many trained staff that represent a variety of spiritual beliefs. Doctoral interns are exposed to a variety of religious doctrines that are also related to this region. Grand Valley State University has a rich resource of faculty, administrators and students. The Counseling Center is frequently used as a resource to get connected with a less familiar religious sect or spiritual group. The Center also offers Yoga and other spiritual meditation groups.
