Master of Education in Literacy Studies with an Emphasis in School Library Media Services

This program prepares candidates to be school library media specialists in elementary and secondary school settings.    Program content promotes incorporation of information literacy and technology standards through collaboration with all members of the learning community. Courses cover a wide range of school library media issues on the use of information and ideas, teaching and learning, collaboration and leadership, and program administration.  Students may choose an  M.Ed. concentration and/or an endorsement.
The courses and field experience address the ALA/AASL and NCATE national standards.

Note: Students must take a self-assessment, instituted by the Eduucational Technology Integration program, before registering for any courses that lead towards a M.Ed. in General Education with an emphasis in School Library Media Services. The technology self-assessment is designed to ensure that students who take graduate educational technology emphasis area courses have the knowledge and skill required to be successful in these classes.
