STUDENTS VOLUNTEERING OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM  STEP BY STEP GUIDE FOR RISK REDUCTION

1. Review the Volunteer section of the CLAS Risk Reduction site. Understand the risks of the activity you are considering and know the best ways to manage those risks.

2. Clearly communicate that the student activity is purely voluntary, no course credit will be given, and they will be responsible for their own actions. Recommend that they contact the GVSUs Community Service Learning Center for assistance.
