Description

Now in its sixth year, the 2015 Roundtable will be held March 26 in the Grand Rapids Public Library and is open to the public. Focused on "Food, Farm, and Table" the meeting will explore West Michigan's diverse foodways and food history including producing, picking, and processing. Highlights include a keynote address on "Local to Global Food Values: Policy, Practice, and Performance" by Professor Ellen Messer, Tufts University. Professor Messer specializes in cross-cultural perspectives on food and sustainable food systems. Panel discussions on "Food and Place-Making" and "Documenting the History of Agriculture in Oceana County" are also highlights of the program, along with a dinner business meeting for museums, library/archives, and historical society staff.
