Escape from these chilly times by having a blast at Winterfest! From January 28-29, enjoy free chocolate, food trucks, comedy, and more at the Kirkhof Center. There’s snow way you’ll want to miss out on these activities!
1. Hot Chocolate Bar and S’more Surprises
Who doesn’t love a nice cup (or 2 or 3) of hot chocolate during wintertime? There will be a hot chocolate bar in the Russel H. Kirkhof Center Lobby from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday and from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday. Saturday evening, the fire pits on Kirkhof Lawn will be up and running for making some tasty tasty s’mores.
2. Food Trucks, Food Trucks, Food Trucks!
If you’ve never been to a food truck in the dead of winter, here’s your chance. Righteous Cuisine will serve Mexican food outside of Kirkhof on Friday from 12-2 p.m., with Patty Matters serving burgers the next day from 12-3 p.m. Bring cash, credit, or even dining dollars and treat yourself!
3. Frosty Winter Fun
If you aren’t bothered by a little Michigan chill, check out all of the wonderful outdoor activities Winterfest has to offer! Live ice carving in front of your very own two eyes, snowball target practice, and winter-themed trivia are all included in Winterfest this year.
5. The Main Event
Comedian Matthew Broussard from Comedy Central will be in Kirkhof’s Grand River Room on Saturday, 6-7 p.m. After all the fun you’ll have had during the day at Kirkhof, why not stay a little longer for a laughably good time?
Winterfest is going to inject some much-needed warmth and fun into this semester, and there’s plenty of activities to take part in. Bring a friend, a roommate, or a sentient snowman in a hat, and have a snow-fully good time!
