Oh no! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and you have no idea where to take your boo. Fear not, Lakers! There are many on-campus opportunities and amazing date options in the Allendale and Grand Rapids area. Read on to figure out how you can celebrate the big day and sweep your lover off of their feet.
Dinner and a Movie
A classic date idea. First, dine somewhere classy. This is not a Main St. Pub situation, people. Your soulmate at least deserves Uccello’s. Then, take your bae to see something romantic at one of the surrounding theaters. This is the formula that has created successful dates for centuries, and you can’t go wrong with the classics.
Ice Skating
What could be more magical than heading to downtown GR and skating the night away amidst the twinkling city lights? It’s only $3 per person for outdoor skating at Rosa Parks Circle and that includes a rental pair of skates. An Evening at the Theater
Sweep your boo off their feet by showing them how cultured you are. Go downtown to Dog Story Theater for a show by the Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company.

At Home Movie Night
Sometimes there’s nothing better than having a simple, cozy night in with your boo, Netflix, and a pizza. Not everyone is into a fancy night out on the town. Grab some blankets, maybe make some hot chocolate, and snuggle up for a night of all their favorite movies.
No matter what you and your valentine end up doing on the big day, what’s most important is that you spend time together.
