Dinner and a Movie

A classic date idea. First, dine somewhere classy. This is not a Main St. Pub situation, people. Your soulmate at least deserves Uccello’s. Then, take your bae to see something romantic at one of the surrounding theaters. This is the formula that has created successful dates for centuries, and you can’t go wrong with the classics.

Ice Skating

What could be more magical than heading to downtown GR and skating the night away amidst the twinkling city lights? It’s only $3 per person for outdoor skating at Rosa Parks Circle and that includes a rental pair of skates. If you’re interested in a night of icy and slippery romance, you can find out more details about the Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink

An Evening at the Theater

Sweep your boo off their feet by showing them how cultured you are. Go downtown to Dog Story Theater for a show by the Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company.

A Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride

Grand Rapids is a beautiful city, and you can appreciate the views by taking a horse-drawn carriage tour. Classic Carriage L.L.C. gives you the opportunity to really impress your love with a romantic activity straight out of a rom com.

Arcade Night

Channel your inner gamer and spend the night battling each other with a romantically competitive experience. The Pyramid Scheme has pinball galore, or if you’re looking for the complete arcade experience, Dave and Busters is perfect for you.

At Home Movie Night

Sometimes there’s nothing better than having a simple, cozy night in with your boo, Netflix, and a pizza. Not everyone is into a fancy night out on the town. Grab some blankets, maybe make some hot chocolate, and snuggle up for a night of all their favorite movies.

No matter what you and your valentine end up doing on the big day, what’s most important is that you spend time together.
It’s the thought that counts! For more information about on-campus events, visit the Events Calendar.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Lakers!
