Top 5 Things to Do at Family Weekend
Posted on September 19, 2017
Family Weekend is a wonderful opportunity for Lakers and their friends, family, and other loved ones to experience a Grand Valley weekend. This weekend is filled with things to do; whether it’s singing with your friends at Dueling Pianos, shopping at the Laker Store, or experiencing the Renaissance Festival, there is something for everyone! This year’s theme is Valley of Colors which means there will be lots of crafts to do and art to explore with ArtPrize 9 happening downtown Grand Rapids!
Check out below the top 5 things we are most excited for this Family Weekend!
Join a full house of students and families in the Kirkhof Center’s Grand River Room to test the knowledge and skill of the pianists. This night is filled with singing and dancing to crowd-pleasing throwbacks and today’s favorite jams. This free event includes refreshments and guarantees a good time for all!
Celebrate color in the Fieldhouse Arena from 11 - 3 with family-friendly activities, crafts, art, games, prizes, food, inflatables, and so much more hosted by GVSU's student clubs and organizations!
Experience Grand Valley on foot! Walk or run the winding trail through our beautiful autumn campus. All ages are welcome!
Grand Rapids is the host of ArtPrize, an international art competition. Artists from all over the world share more than 1,000 pieces of art throughout the downtown area. You’ll be able to tour the festival and vote for your favorite works. Check out the ArtPrize website.
