It's National Voter Registration Day
Written by Marion Jamet & Posted on September 25, 2018
It’s National Voter Registration Day. Don’t let this holiday wash over you, left in the forgotten recesses of your mind, between National Donut Day and National Pedestrian Day. No matter what you believe in, what you’re passionate about, or who you’re rooting for, we all come together on National Voter Registration Day to celebrate our ability to have say.
Join us by the Clock Tower today, September 25, to celebrate National Voter Registration Day! We will be registering students to vote, and the Michigan Secretary of State Mobile Unit will be verifying identities for absentee ballots. Remember, if this is your first time voting and you would like to vote absentee, you must verify your identity at a Secretary of State before requesting that absentee ballot. Registering to vote, and being a part of history, takes only a couple minutes. Just stop by and we’ll make the rest easy for you.
If that’s not incentive enough, we’ll also have a DJ, free food, a photo booth, and a special guest appearance from Louie the Laker! Make Louie proud and make your voice heard!
As college students, we’re the future of our country and world--so every vote counts. Whether you are voting for local public officials or on a ballot proposal, your vote matters! Be sure you register to vote!
